ABOUT

Hailing from Oakland, California, modern metal band Viscelator makes its debut with two demo tracks, “Active Aggression” and “Mass Panic.” Blending intricate riff work, melodic passages, and high-energy intensity, Viscelator draws from a diverse range of metal subgenres, including Modern Thrash, Death Metal, Technical Death Metal, Groove Metal, and Progressive Metal.

Driven by precision, aggression, and a commitment to pushing their sound forward, Viscelator combines the raw intensity of thrash with the technicality, groove, and complexity of modern extreme metal. With “Active Aggression” and “Mass Panic,” the band establishes its foundation and introduces a sound built on relentless riffs, dynamic songwriting, and uncompromising heaviness.

VISCELATOR DEFINITION (VIS-UH-LATER)

Viscelator is rooted in the horror of human nature, the impermanence of power, and the transformation of brutality into legend. Inspired by the historical figure of Vlad the Impaler and his imprisonment at Visegrád, the band's name embodies the paradox of the monster: a being capable of inflicting terror upon others, yet never beyond defeat, humiliation, or death.

Through horror-driven narratives and philosophical themes, Viscelator explores the boundaries between monster and man, justice and cruelty, power and submission. Its lyrical concepts confront the darkness within humanity and the stories born from its atrocities; stories that can outlive their creators, turning mortal figures into immortal nightmares.

In the world of Viscelator, no power is absolute, no monster is invincible, and no legacy is free from the shadow of death.

IBRAHIM KHOURY

Ibrahim brings intricate riffage, melodic aggression, and blistering solos to Viscelator's sound. Inspired by the melodic intensity of Trivium, Sylosis, and Bullet for My Valentine, his approach to songwriting and lead guitar draws from the technical precision and shredding prowess of Jeff Loomis and Brandon Ellis.

Whether crafting elaborate riffs or unleashing relentless solos, Ibrahim delivers a balance of melody, speed, and aggression. When he's not busy shredding, you'll find him dedicated to personal health and fitness, flexing both his guitar chops, his calves, and dunking on em.

JUSTIN LAM

VOCALS AND GUITAR

Drawing inspiration from the legendary frontmen and guitarists of Metallica, Trivium, Bleed from Within, and Revocation, Justin brings together aggressive harsh vocals and razor-sharp guitar work.

Embracing the classic metal tradition of singing, screaming, and shredding, he channels old-school metal spirit through a modern, technical edge. Outside of Viscelator, Justin explores a variety of metal subgenres through Wroht and Hatriot. When he's not writing riffs or tearing up the stage, you can find him behind the bar, serving drinks and keeping the crowd entertained.

JON ELLERY

DRUMS

Jon Ellery is the rhythmic engine behind Viscelator, combining the technical ferocity of The Black Dahlia Murder with the crushing heaviness of Morbid Angel. His precision, dynamic control, and technical expertise provide the backbone that keeps the band's complex arrangements tight and its performances relentless.

As the driving force that holds Viscelator's intensity together, he ensures every blast beat, groove, and transition hits with purpose. Jon also showcases his drumming prowess in Unpassing, where he unleashes his talent in an equally fast, aggressive, and hard-hitting musical environment. Beyond the kit, Jon is an outdoors enthusiast with a passion for building, creating, and bringing ideas to life.

DEVON TAYLOR

BASS GUITAR

Devon brings technical precision, intricate tapping, and a commanding rhythmic presence to Viscelator's low end. Inspired by the progressive brutality of The Faceless and Archspire, she pushes the boundaries of bass playing with dynamic runs and complex rhythms that lock seamlessly with Jon's drumming.

As a powerhouse of the rhythm section, Devon adds depth, movement, and technical fire to the band's sound. Away from the bass, she embraces artistic self-expression, enjoys exploring the great outdoors, and loves sharing life's adventures with her beloved husky.
